Description
What is Surface Experts?
Surface Experts repairs small damage on interior hard surfaces instead of replacing them. Countertops, floors, cabinets, bathtubs, showers, sinks, appliances, doors, and trim. Most companies replace the whole surface, which costs thousands of dollars and takes weeks with the space out of service the entire time. A Surface Experts technician repairs just the damaged spot using a patented 5-step process that matches color, texture, and sheen. Per the 2026 FDD, the average repair is $288 and the average job is $406.
The business is built on commercial accounts. The buyers are property managers, maintenance managers, and facilities managers at multi-family housing, hotels and hospitality, construction and restoration companies, real estate offices, and moving companies. Those buyers have the same problem every month, and that is what makes the revenue repeat. Residential work exists but is supplemental, not the core.
The owner never performs repairs. The franchisee recruits and leads a team of technicians, builds and holds B2B accounts, and manages quality in the field. This is not a semi-absentee model. The FDD requires the owner to devote full-time effort and to start with one full-time Lead Technician and one full-time Business Development person. The business is mobile, starts from a home office with one wrapped vehicle, and requires no retail lease.
Franchisees are supported by a national support center in Spokane that manages customer intake and scheduling. As of the 2026 FDD, Surface Experts had 103 territories operating and zero company-owned units, up from 63 territories at the start of 2023. Franchisor financing of 50 to 100 percent of the initial franchise fee is available depending on creditworthiness.
